Jesus has a palpable love for children:
Anyone who welcomes one of these little children in my name, welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me (Mark 9).
Jesus is the Son of the Father. He is teaching us to see ourselves as children before God, and so enjoy a relationship of trust with God our Father.
2025 is a universal Jubilee Year in the Church.
It is all about hope. The pope says the signs of hope are praying for world peace, performing works of mercy, and opening ourselves to the gift of children:
Sadly, in many situations this is lacking.
A first effect of this is the loss of the desire to transmit life. A number of countries are experiencing an alarming decline in the birthrate as a result of today’s frenetic pace, fears about the future, etc.
The desire of young people to give birth to new sons and daughters as a sign of the fruitfulness of their love ensures a future for every society.
Children are really the supreme gift of marriage.
For one thing, they teach us how to receive gifts with open hearts.
Amen.
Beautiful Fr Percy!
