Revelation 22:
I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
God is the beginning. God is the end:
Everything originates from him. Everything orientates to him.
Every person originates from him. Every person orientates to him.
We have come from God. We are going to God.
It stands to reason that God will give us everything we need to find our rest in him.
God is free. God is true. God is love.
We, made in the image and likeness of God, are created in freedom, truth and love:
Problem is, we have a skewed view of freedom. We conceive it as autonomy – a word that means auto-law (from the Greek language).
But we are not a law unto ourselves.
That is a message that comes not from God, but from our culture.
Rather, we have liberty, we are free. Notice the momentum within:
Freedom is orientated to truth, and truth is orientated towards love.
It is most important that we have an experience of our freedom and that takes place when truth helps us to seek virtue and to reject vice – pursuing good and rejecting evil.
